Affordable housing complex officially opens in Woodland
Where CommuniCare general hospital and behavioral health clinic used to be now stands 15 buildings painted colorfully with yellow, blue, green and brown tones.
West Beamer Place, an 80-unit community developed by the Yolo County Public Housing Authority and Mercy Housing California, is formally opening today, Tuesday, a little over a year and a half after construction on the property, located at 10 N. Cottonwood St., began in 2017.
Yolo Housing’s Chief Executive Officer Lisa Baker says the project has major importance to the community.
