Woodland, Yolo County working together to house more homeless

“I love staying here. It’s been helpful to me right now. We had been in the tent city for awhile … It was worse out there when it started to rain, but the case workers came and told us about different programs that people would be interested in. I think it would be a good thing for more people to be in here in a safe, warm area. This is how Jessica Schaefer described her experience at a temporary shelter in Woodland. Located in the city’s old jail facility on Third Street, the 27-year-old has stayed there since the day it opened in December.
